Google (AdSense) being very disrespectful AGAIN!
Well it might not be that much of a surprise for some of you, but once again Google has been proven to be judgemental prick☹️
My website which was previously hosted on https://www.team-xnl.nl/ (and thus now on this .com domain), was 100% approved for AdSense (which of course enables me to keep making all the projects, circuits, PDF’s, Tutorials, and 3D models for free), now suddenly is ‘classified’ as low value content by Google:
When I try to dispute this via an email all you will get within 5 minutes is an automatic (or even AI generated) email like this:
It doesn’t seem to matter to Google that I spend weeks, to months or even longer on some of the projects. It’s just ‘copy-paste’ working according to them (claiming in the additional links I could click on that it’s ‘Thin-Content-Pages’
Google has detected low-quality pages or shallow pages on your site. Here are a few common examples of pages that often have thin content with little or no added value:
- Thin affiliate pages
- Content from other sources. For example: scraped content or low-quality guest blog posts
- Doorways
Are they insane? NONE of the content on my pages are ‘copy-pasted’ or “scrapped” AT ALL! If you would for example take a look at the PDF Datasheet/Manual included in my LABUNO Overkill Edition project, then you can clearly see that project alone has it’s own handwritten manual of 40 freaking pages with hand drawn illustrations.
I will be 100% honest and admit that I had a very different phrasing in mind while writing this ‘rant post’ (and even redacted a large portion of it afterwards, including the title). To prevent further issues while getting validated, or without me looking like the bad-guy.
But this is honestly EXTREMELY infuriating! Especially considering that the website was already approved a long time ago without any issues, when it barely even had any projects on it! And obviously also because it’s just ‘pissing on my work’, while it most likely is reviewed by just a AdSense employee without zero knowledge about electronics, 3D printing, writing manuals etc (or unfortunately even worse: with an automated (AI?) script, which isn’t used to someone using a ‘shop-setup’ to offer nothing but free downloads and projects☹️).
What infuriates me the most is that there are thousands of websites and even YouTube Channels (also monetized via AdSense) which publish absolute junk like stolen content, compilations (without permission), 5-minute crafts which are absolutely useless and even dangerous sometimes, and then there are even LARGE channels which have proven controversy which include bad work place behavior, illegal activities and even animal abuse (made to look like it’s “cute”), child endangerment and more of the alike, but those channels are all just ‘perfectly fine’ to get their monetization.
I’m doing my own honest work here, sharing my work and projects for free and then you get ‘rejected’ by some Google Employee without actually getting a decent reply with valid reasons back? I find that utterly disrespectful to be honest.
Last time they rejected it was about like ten projects back (the website back then already had a fair share of projects online though), but since then I have published ten more projects, all big projects with LOTS of documentation and free files for others to download, enjoy and learn from. And so I tried again…. NOPE… stil not “enough work” put in to here.
Well Google, I don’t know what you would expect from me to do more to be “valuable to you”?😡 But you basically expect me to keep making more projects with 40 page manuals, with manually drawn illustrations and such without giving me ANY chance to make a small revenue on my projects so I can finance the hosting and time put into it? ABSURD!
My website is rejected every time when I request a review, while I have a VERY large website for “just a YouTuber’s project page‘! I have massive pages with information about the platform. I have put up decent Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, A User System where users can make reviews about the projects they’ve downloaded/made, the website is fully privacy compliant (and respectful to my visitors). It has a proper cookie management system installed,
The projects are published in a ‘webshop like’ format to keep it easy to maintain for me, and easy to use for my visitors, I seriously don’t know what else Google expects me to do more! I really DON’T.
I do however know that I will go and get some legal advice on how to proceed with this, because (even though some might think it’s pitiful), I feel like the are massively in the wrong here. They are seriously limiting my capabilities to resume my projects at this pace and expand on my platform with this behavior.
In the meantime you can support my projects and content etc via my Patreon page though (if you want of course)😊
Ow, and of course we now also have our own direct platform sponsors and option to sponsor the platform directly without using AdSense😉:
I will however NOT stop making my projects or content, because Google decided to be an absolute disrespectful prick. But I also refuse to rebuild my entire website (Which I have spend over a YEAR on to make it like this!) for them. I have put together a website which works just fine, on all platforms, is freely accessible and contains all the information you’ll need.
I do find it kinda ironic that Google often ‘warns’ website owners that they need to ‘fix’ their website otherwise they might get penalized in the search results on Google….. While their biggest social platform (YouTube) has SO MANY interface issues like for example:
– Smiley’s not working on many portions of the (desktop) website
– Audio of random video’s playing over other video’s you’re watching (happened to me and a few friends multiple times now)
– When typing a comment auto-play doesn’t even detects this and just goes to the next video and thus ‘trashing’ your entire comment instantly
– Spam bots are basically taking over on good video’s often.
I could keep going a while, but I think most of you also know to mention quite a few YouTube website issue also (I’m NOT talking about the content on it though! I’m talking about the interface itself)
Well this was my (completely un-organized) rant about the situation with AdSense which has been infuriating me quite a few times now, and I just wanted to vent and share this issue here. And you know what? I can, because this is my platform with my rules😂
Like mentioned before: If you enjoy and want to support my (future) projects you can do so via my Patreon page😊
Thanks for your time, and now back to working on the next project😊👍🏽,
Rico
